| Most of this second issue of Dialogue is devoted to the situation of the franc zone in
Africa after the devaluation. It is analyzed here from various angles: a review of the
major macro-economic indicators as they are known today, a comparison with the impact of
devaluations in Anglophone Africa, as well as reflections on the long-term future of the
zone. The second article in this newsletter addresses long-term issues, a priority theme of research for DIAL, through a short presentation of the main conclusions of the West Africa long-term perspective study whose economic component was carried out by DIAL. Finally, this newsletter is an opportunity for us to get in touch with a large audience of researchers who specialize in development issues. Thus we would like to take this occasion to announce that DIAL, a European research institute, intends to increase and diversify its staff. We are now looking for candidates for two research posts, and will give priority in recruitment to candidates from countries of the European Union. All applications are welcome.... |
